About the Graduate Student Ambassador Program

The Graduate Student Ambassador Program allows graduate students to represent The Graduate College at university events and outreach activities. Ambassadors share insights from their academic journeys, provide peer guidance, and help prospective students envision their path at TXST. With a commitment of 4 hours or less per week, you will earn a Professional Development Certificate, network with faculty and alumni, receive grad swag, and gain recognition at Graduate College ceremonies.

Eligibility

  • Currently enrolled TXST graduate student
  • Completed at least one semester of graduate study
  • Hold a 3.5 or higher overall GPA
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and an interest in supporting graduate education

Graduate Students enrolled in programs at the San Marcos campus, the Round Rock campus, and online are all encouraged to apply.

How to Apply

1. Statement of Interest (300 words or less) that addresses the following:

  • Why do you want to become a Graduate Student Ambassador, and what do you hope to gain?
  • What skills or experiences make you a strong fit for the role?
  • What do you enjoy most about your graduate program and/or TXST?

2. Faculty Reference Contact

  • Provide the name and email of a graduate faculty member willing to serve as a reference.
  • No letter is required; The Graduate College will contact them directly with a brief survey.

Application Deadline for Spring 2026: December 19, 2025

Applicants selected for the next stage will receive an email in early January inviting them to a group virtual interview.
