New Graduate Student Orientation Parking

Walking directions: from Matthews Street garage, head southwest on Matthews Street and climb the stairs to reach the third floor entrance to LBJ student center. To avoid stairs, follow Student Center Drive towards the Student Health Center, then take a left at the bus loop to reach the 3rd floor entrance of LBJ Student Center.

Parking: Matthews Street Garage

If you have already purchased and received your parking permit, you may park in any permitted areas for the event.

If you have not already purchased and received your parking permit, you are permitted to park on floors 4-6 of the Matthews Street Garage—see image to the right. However, you MUST register your vehicle before the event to be in compliance with parking services.

From the Matthews Street Parking Garage, you will head to the third floor of the LBJ Student Center to check-in for the event. If you follow the red arrow on the map, you will be able to access the 3rd floor entrance after climbing a few flights of outdoor stairs. If you follow the blue arrow, you will be able to access the same entrance while avoiding the stairs.

The LBJ Student Center has it’s own parking garage but you must pay to park in it.
The Graduate College will not be able to reimburse you if you choose to pay to park in the LBJ Garage.

It is vital you follow all parking rules and regulations. The Graduate College is not responsible for parking tickets and will not reimburse any fees incurred.

You may park in any of the purple zone perimeter lots to the east and west of the Avery Building, as well as the lot to the east of Willow Hall.

If you have already purchased and received your parking permit, you may park in any permitted areas for the event.

If you have not already purchased and received your parking permit, you are permitted to park in any perimeter (purple) lot—see image below. However, you MUST register your vehicle before the event in order to be in compliance with parking services.  

From the parking lot, you will head to the 2nd floor of the Avery Building to check-in for the event. The 2nd floor of Avery is on the same level as the ground floor from most of the parking areas.
