The Graduate College at Texas State University hosted the 2023 Graduate Student Research Conference on April 4, 2023, during Graduate Student Appreciation Week. 

Over 70 graduate students from various disciplines at Texas State University presented original research findings and other projects through poster presentations. The conference opened on April 4, 2023, with welcome remarks from Dr. Patti Giuffre, Associate Dean of The Graduate College. A panel of faculty, all of whom mentored many graduate students, spoke about “Navigating Systems of Research, Writing, and Creative Expression.” The panel was moderated by then Graduate House leader, Thibault Gehin, a graduate student in the MBA program. The panel topic was part of the 2022-2023 Common Experience theme of Systems Thinking.

              Dr. Nancy Wilson, Professor, English 

              Dr. Clarena Larrotta, Professor, Adult, Professional, and Community Education

              Dr. Alejandra Sorto, Professor, Mathematics

At the GSRC held on the Round Rock campus, former Dean of Health Professions, Dr. Ruth Welborn, discussed the importance of graduate student research and her journey to graduate school.
