The Big Run 2018

On June 6, 2018, Running with the Grad Deans participated in their first (and long overdue) run in Round Rock: The Big Run, organized by Fleet Feet as part of #GlobalRunningDay. A more appropriate name for the race would have been The Hot Run as temperatures were close to 100°F at 6 p.m.! Not the best conditions, to say the least, so imagine our amazement and delight that seven runners decided to brave the heat and run with us! Several of us were questioning our sanity as we were finishing the course but as one participant explained “Hey, this race sounded like a good idea in March when we signed up.” Fortunately, all runners were smart enough to adjust their pace and water-intake to the conditions and, in the end, we were all proud to have finished the course. And we even had some fun before, during, and after the race.

Everyone’s efforts raised $90 for scholarships. We are looking for additional races in Round Rock so if you know of a good one, please drop us a line.
