Cinco de Mayo 5K & Kidz Run 2017

Runners show off their Running with the graduate deans shirts at the Cinco de Mayo 5K run.

What a perfect day to be running a 5k: clear skies, temps in the low 60s, a tranquil neighborhood, fantastic volunteers, and great cameradie! There is no better way to spend a Saturday morning. That’s at least what all the runners thought. And who ran? Three graduate students (one of whom is also a staff member in the library), a staff member from Financial Aid, one undergraduate student, one graduate dean, and two new Running with the Grad Deans recruits. We also spotted some faculty from Geography who have promised to run with us once we have tank tops (which are on order!). One of our runners finished her first 5k ever — and she finished strong, medaling in her age group! This race raised $160 for scholarships which includes the extra funds raised by the two runners who beat the dean!
